Amazon’s latest Alexa-powered device, the Echo Spot, is one of the best looking gadgets ever produced by the retail giant, but it isn’t without flaws, according to a series of reviews out today.

Amazon’s?new program, announced this morning, is the latest collaboration between?the?Alexa and AWS teams inside the company, designed to further boost the development of new capabilities?for the voice-enabled virtual assistant. Alexa powers devices including Amazon’s own Echo smart speakers.

Among the 498 stores first opened in Shanghai in the first half of 2019, 59 percent are restaurants, 32 percent retail stores and 11 percent entertainment service providers. Apart from the obvious reasons such as the large population, higher consumption capability of local residents, and business vibrancy, experts from RET also stressed that the communication proficiency and government efficiency have made Shanghai an ideal launch pad.

Amazon’s other option would be spinning off its private label brands, which compete with third-party sellers in the marketplace. That would mean abandoning a business that Amazon has been investing heavily in over the past few years.
